The short version: JSONstatus is a desktop application that assembles and redacts Slack JSON exports entirely on your own machine. We do not receive, store, or have access to your Slack data, the record you assemble, or the PDFs you produce. The only personal data we hold about you is your name, email address, and licence information.
Who we are
JSONstatus is a product of ScryMarc Software, operated by John Livingston. For questions about this policy, contact us at hello@jsonstatus.co.uk.
What data we collect and why
Purchase and licence information. When you buy a licence, we collect your name and email address in order to issue your licence and provide support. This information is not shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
Website analytics. Our website uses Cloudflare's built-in analytics, which provides aggregate traffic data (page views, visitor counts, country of origin) without using cookies or tracking individual visitors. We do not use Google Analytics or any other third-party tracking.
Support communications. If you contact us by email, we retain that correspondence in order to resolve your query and maintain a support history.
The application runs entirely on your machine
JSONstatus makes no external network requests. Your Slack export, the assembled record, the full-text index it builds, every redaction you make, and the Bates-numbered PDFs you export stay on your own computer. None of it is transmitted to us or to anyone else.
What data we do not collect
We have no access to:
- Your Slack export or anything within it (messages, users, channels, or files)
- The assembled record or the full-text search index JSONstatus builds from it
- Any redactions you apply, or the redaction and un-redaction audit log
- The Bates-numbered PDFs or any other output you generate
All assembly and redaction happens on your machine. The application does not transmit your export or its output anywhere.
